The annual Beach Cities Toy Drive is a joint holiday tradition hosted by Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach to collect new, unwrapped toys for children in need across Los Angeles County. Donations benefit local charities like the Salvation Army, Richstone Family Center, and the 1736 Family Crisis Center.

"I have been on the board of the BCTD for over 20 years and have served as Host City Chair in MB for 10 of those years! Fantastic organization that provides toys, bicycles with helmets and skateboards with helmets to hundreds of underprivileged children each year!"

Drop-Off Locations

You can typically drop off unwrapped toys during the holiday season (running through mid-December) at these local spots:

• Hermosa Beach Police Department: 540 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach (open 24 hours)
• LA County Fire Station No. 100: 540 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach
• Manhattan Beach Fire Department: 400 15th Street, Manhattan Beach
• Manhattan Beach City Hall: 1400 Highland Avenue, Manhattan Beach

Wrapping Party & Volunteering

The drive usually culminates in a community wrapping party in mid-to-late December at the Joslyn Community Center (1601 N. Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach). Volunteers gather to sort and wrap the collected gifts, and are encouraged to bring their own rolls of tape and scissors.
